Florisil column chromatography has been used extensively for the separation of lipids, l but
its high adsorptive activity often resulted in low recoveries of lipids and low reproducibility.
Therefore, to lower the activity and keep its activity constant, pre-conditioning of Florisil with
50% V/V methanol solution was performed, and better resolution and recoveries for all
classes of lipids were obtained, as described in this paper.
