Recent findings on the molecular mechanisms underlying the promotion of food intake or, in
contrast, the suppression of food intake by anandamide and N-oleoylethanolamine, are
summarized. Potential strategies for treating overweight, metabolic syndrome, and type II
diabetes are briefly outlined.
