The thioredoxin-interacting protein TXNIP is a ubiquitously expressed redox protein that
promotes apoptosis. Recently, we found that TXNIP deficiency protects against type 1 and 2
diabetes by inhibiting beta cell apoptosis and maintaining pancreatic beta cell mass,
