As the first FDA-approved anabolic agent for osteoporosis, teriparatide has proven effective
for people at highest risk of fracture, despite limitations of expense, route of delivery, and
length of treatment. Available data show that combination therapy with teriparatide and
antiresorptive agents does not offer a therapeutic advantage. However, treatment with an
