The continuous discovery of diverse myosin molecules reveals that the motor domain of
myosin is used for many different types of functions. Recent data imply that myosins play
active roles in signal transduction pathways, in which they modulate the activities of other
proteins and properly position signalling activities at the cytoskeleton-membrane interface.
