It is contended that the findings of Cerini and Christie [Prostaglandins 2, 433], that the
luteolytic effect of PGF2 alpha is mediated through increased secretion of LH, is not proven
since (a) the dose used was 5 mu g/h and other workers had already shown that luteolysis
does not occur even at 25 mu g/h, and (b) no one has demonstrated that LH does have a
luteolytic action in sheep.
