The article comments on the adverse effects of heparin, as well as its association with the
white clot syndrome. In administering heparin types of platelet decrease must be identified.
Despite of its anticoagulation effect heparin could also induce thromboembolic event. The
author suggests that for continued anticoagulation one should try coumadin or hirudin.
