The human major histocompatibility complex (MHC) spans over 4 megabases of DNA on
chromosome 6~ 21.3 (Carroll et al., 1987; Dunham et al., 1987)(fig. 1). It encodes clusters of
genes functioning in the generation, transport and cell surface presentation of antigenic
