Primary lung infection with Cryptococcus neoformans is characterised by circumscribed
lesions (cryptococcomas). To identify cryptococcal and/or host products of importance in
pathogenesis, we applied proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, which
identifies mobile compounds present in complex mixtures, to experimental pulmonary
