phosphotyrosine in proteins. Protein kinases can be differentiated according to their amino
acid specificity. Casein kinases of type II and the cAMP-dependent kinases phosphorylate
serine, while casein kinases of type I phosphorylate threonine and, to a lesser extent, serine.
