Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the T cell dynamics in HIV-1 infection. One of the
most prominent features of HIV-1 infection is CD4+ T cell depletion. This statement is widely
used in papers on HIV-1 research; however, the truth is that it fails to describe the complex
change in the representation of T cell subsets during HIV-1 infection. HIV-1 infection is a
