Nuclear factor I (NFI) binds to a region of the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase
(GTP)(PEPCK) gene promoter adjacent to the cAMP regulatory element (CRE) and inhibits
the induction of transcription from the gene promoter caused by the catalytic subunit of
