Purinergic signaling has been recognized as playing an important role in inflammation,
angiogenesis, malignancy, diabetes and neural transmission. Activation of signaling
pathways downstream from purinergic receptors may also be implicated in transplantation
and related vascular injury. Following transplantation, the proinflammatory “danger signal”
