BACKGROUND & AIMS: Lipodystrophies are hypoleptinemic conditions characterized by fat
loss, severe insulin resistance, hypertriglyceridemia, and ectopic fat accumulation. Non-
alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and steatohepatitis (NASH) are also features of this
