Leprosy Review, 1965cabdirect.org
A valuable review, mainly of the work on experimental animals, but linking this with trials in
human beings [this Bulletin, 1962, v. 59, 1070 bis; 1964, v. 61, 608]. Among the many points
discussed is the therapeutic effect of the drug in different animal species. For example, it is
very effective in the mouse and the hamster, where the bacilli tend to be intracellular, and
much less so in the guineapig where the bacilli are mostly extracellular, but the original must
be studied for the whole story. FIC Apted.
