Abstract ATR (Ataxia Telangiectasia and Rad3-related) is a member of the
Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-related kinases (PIKKs) family, amongst six other vertebrate
proteins known so far. ATR is indispensable for cell survival and its essential role is in
