Human osteoclast formation from monocyte precursors under the action of receptor activator
of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) was suppressed by granulocyte macrophage colony-
stimulating factor (GM-CSF), with down-regulation of critical osteoclast-related nuclear
