A study of demeclocycline, a tetracycline antibiotic, in 9 psychiatric inpatients (aged 31–47
yrs) with polydipsia-hyponatremia revealed a trend toward a slight increase in mean serum
sodium levels and a decrease in the number of sporadic sodium levels. Data suggest that
demeclocycline did not add significantly to the proven clinical effectiveness of a
